Cross posted from my private journal, but a nice writeup on setting up my new marine tank. I'll update more with the process of setting it up, testing the water, and taking care of the fish if anyone is interested. =)

Video taken quite a while ago by [info]marko_the_rat, but I'm not sure if I ever posted it. Good example of how a quoll walks, runs, and a bit of grooming. Grainy because of nightview on camcorder:

And something cut from a TV show showing a bit of quoll as well, and a tassie devil (DANGER! 41 MB. Huuuuuge file):

So, just in case you didn't know? Australian Brushtail possums are the cutest little bastards EVER. Seriously. Stephen took me out for night time pancakes and possum feeding at the gardens in the city tonight. Pushy little bastards. They're all meek and scared for the first grape. And then, oh noes! Possum attack! *auuuuugh* There were at least 3 or 4 times I was going "Ahh! Stephen! It's gonna beat me up for grapes! Helllllp!".

Heh. ^_^ I love possums. Uploaded the pictures here. Sorry gallery is slow *sigh*. Better galleries in the next few weeks, promise! Annnndd, prints of ANY of these available. Just lemme know! =) $10 for a print, includes shipping to you. You're welcome to steal any for icons as long as I'm given credit, or for drawing reference as well.

More macro shots. Hopefully I can get a friendly lorikeet to allow me to get macro shots of birdy faces next week. Flea is the model here; happily sunbathing. Took these the other day, took a break now to post em.

Pictures of my trip with friends up to the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand.

From Hamilton - heading out to Coromandel from Hamilton. Just some "generic New Zealand" shots.
Driving out of Hamilton; to Coromandel

Thames - we stayed here our first night. Great view.
Thames

Butterfly and Orchid House - Very cool. I forget what town it was in, but the butterflies were all over. Did you know I'm scared of butterflies? No, neither did I...*flail!*
Butterfly and Orchid House

Driving Creek Railway - Miniature railway up into a mountain built by a guy so they could bring clay down to the pottery kilns at the base. Very cool and scenic.
Driving Creek Railway

Whitianga - Stayed here our second night. This is the view from the beach behind the hotel.
Whitianga

Square Kauri - Big huge Kauri tree. Very neat. =)

Hahei Beach - beach just outside of Whitianga where we spent the night

Mill Creek Bird and Wildlife Park - just what it sounds like. LOTS of birds, rabbits, sheep! donkey and a deer/fawn. Very cute and colourful place.

First post here for you all. =) Something you've all probably seen already, but that has made me perk up during the news just in case there are any more pictures. There's an included slideshow at this link:
